I am working with modelling and simulation of the European electrical power system and started on my PhD in the spring of 2019. The topic of my PhD is "Regional and temporal carbon intensity signals for the European power system". The aim of this dissertation is to provide an approach for calculating the GHG emission intensity of electricity in high spatial as well as temporal perspective. Aspects such as the choice of method, the allocation perspective and the availability of open source data for European countries are addressed.
