Admission procedure

Dear Applicant,

thank you for your interest in the SSE Master Program!

We are currently re-arranging requirements for admission to the MSc. SSE in autumn for next year’s winter intake 2018. This means we are unable at this point to say what exactly the new requirements for admission will be.

However, sure is that you will need to have a Bachelor degree in engineering or science with a total of 180 ECTS and 3 years of duration at least. 120 ECTS of the 180 ECTS must be engineering- and natural science-related subjects (such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science etc.). This precondition is usually fulfilled for example by electrical and mechanical engineers, but can also be fulfilled by graduates of similar programs such as environmental engineering, process engineering, and, of course, energy engineers. The admission committee will decide about the suitability of your previous degree (i.e. whether or not it has prepared you well) for the SSE Master program. In addition, you will need to have advanced English language skills at the level of B2 CEFR at least, which you need to prove with an accepted certificate such as TOEFL, IELTS, or CAE.

All documents must be submitted as certified copies (notarized copies). Normal copies are not accepted and will exclude you from participating in the selection process.

Please come back to this website in February 2018 to get to know the details of admission. Application will be possible from March until May 15th 2018.

The SSE Master program starts only in winter term every year. Application for the summer term is not possible.

In the meantime, get yourself well informed!

For example, check out the website of the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering and - most importantly - the current module handbook of the SSE.
