Walter-und-Ingeborg-Herrmann-Chair for Power Ultrasonics and Engineering of Functional Materials (EFM)
In research and teaching, we focus on materials science and materials engineering with a special focus on sustainable, partly multifunctional material concepts and their process technology. On the one hand, efficient joining techniques for the production of novel multi-material systems are being researched. In addition, modern methods for property and microstructure characterization are used and further or newly developed to enable future product and material solutions together with our partners.
The INATECH Chair is headed by Frank Balle, Professor of "Engineering of Functional Materials" at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg.
