Grid Modeling and Analysis of Power Flows

Research Topics

TEV_Netze.jpgThe growing share of fluctuating renewable electricity generation, often provided by capacities located far away from the load centers, emphasizes the function of long-distance power transmission as an essential building block for a sustainable and reliable energy system. Also, the increasing integration of European energy markets calls for both a more efficient usage and the expansion of national and international transmission capacities.
Our research addresses the detailed modeling of the power grid, and the development of new analytical methods which allow revealing and optimizing the role of power flows in today's and the future energy system.
