Research Topics

FTEV_Flexibilitaet.jpgor its stable and safe operation, the power system requires flexibility, that is the ability of plants to react to fluctuations by adjusting their power injections or withdrawals accordingly. As in the future, this flexibility will not be delivered by large-scale conventional power plants to the same extent as today, other plants have to be able to react flexibly, in order to always match demand with supply. We analyze which options can deliver how much flexibility and under what conditions, and how available flexibility should best be deployed. For this, we develop different tools and simulation models.
